“Billy Joe” Morgan received his undergraduate degree from Davidson
College and was awarded his law degree from the Law School of the
University of North Carolina. He has been active for many years in
the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers and has served as Vice-President
and member of its Board of Governors. He is also active in the North
Carolina Bar Association. He was a founder of the Jacksonville Area
Soccer Association and served as President of the youth soccer organization
from 1975 to 1999. In 1988 he was named Community Man of the Year
for Jacksonville and Onslow County. He has been listed in the personal
injury litigation section of The Best Lawyers in America since 2002.
In 1997, he was named as one of the first members of the North Carolina
Soccer Hall of Fame. He is a past chairman of the Jacksonville Sports
Authority and a past member of the Board of North Carolina Amateur
Sports. He has been a speaker at various legal seminars in North Carolina
and throughout the southeastern United States. Mr. Morgan’s practice
is concentrated primarily in the areas of medical malpractice, personal
injury, wrongful death, commercial litigation and in the representation
of persons charged with serious criminal offenses.
